2010-11 Deacons
The deacons at Vansant Baptist Church take the idea of
servant leadership very seriously. They are first and foremost servants of the church. In accordance with Scripture and the very meaning of the word deacon (Acts 6:1-7, 1 Timothy 3:8-13), they serve in any area of need that should arise, as peacemakers in the church, and as wise council for the pastor. New deacons are elected by the church each September. They serve actively for four years, after which they are required to be inactive for at least one year. Currently, two rotate off each September and two rotate on.
